Bridge International School visited an exhibition in the Alipore Museum

Senior Art students and the senior Art facilitator of Bridge International School visited an exhibition in the Alipore Museum today.The works on view were etching prints by Balthazard Solvyns a Flemish painter and printmaker.The etching prints recorded the Indians of the early 18th century Bengal, categorised via their professions, castes and pastimes.There were prints depicting various kinds of boats,palanquins and musical instruments.

The medium used in these prints was colour etching with hand painted watercolor washes.

Thereafter the students and their escort walked around the jail complex where luminaries like Netaji and Pt Jawahar Lal Nehru had been incarcerated.
